An icon pack for GSam Battery Monitor (all editions). Currently 6sets of icons, though others may be added in the future.This provides additional icon themes for GSam Battery Monitor,and also includes Overlay Icon support allowing any icon to overlaythe default battery icon. The location and size of the overlay isfully adjustable, allowing you to place it in just the rightlocation on your device.NOTE: To configure the location and size of the overlay icon,open up this app, and select 'Configure Overlay Icon Location'1) Circle - Big Visible NumbersThis theme provides a larger more readable version of the defaultGSam Battery Monitor icon.2) Ice Cream Sandwich ThemeThis theme conforms to the standards for notifications in Ice CreamSandwich (Google's latest version of Android). Icons are supposedto be simple and white - Android then automatically dims the iconwhen in the notification bar.3) Plain White NumbersSimple white numbers on a transparent background with a small whitedrain indicator above the number4) ICS BlueSimple blue numbers using the ICS theme - this is great for usingas the overlay icon as it cleanly matches the blue clock.5) CM InspiredInspired by the CyanogenMod 10.1 default Circle Battery (but morereadable), this theme fits in well with any Holo themed device. Ithas a very smooth charging animation which can be somewhat memoryand CPU intensive - so it may not play nicely with olderdevices.6) Just NumbersBy popular request from HTC users, this theme simply has whitenumbers. It works well as an overlay icon on top of the default HTCbattery widget. Shrink it down to fit inside the battery icon, andset Background to fully transparent.Once installed, you can configure the icon using the BatteryIcon Theme preference in the GSam Battery Monitor preferences. OpenGSam Battery Monitor > Select Preferences > Battery IconTheme > and choose one of the icons from the icon pack. Enables full Battery statistics on KitKat based Android devicesforGSam Battery Monitor. NOTE: This app is only needed forKitKatbased devices. If you are running Lollipop or later, use theGSamMenu -> More -> Enable More Stats option. This will giveyoufull statistics whether you have root or not. Unfortunately,Googlehas removed the ability (KitKat 4.4 and later) fornon-systemapplications to access battery statistics. This companionapprestores this function by running as a privilegedsystemapplication. Root access to your device is required. GSamBatteryMonitor works fine without the root companion, however thisappadds additional statistics. Why Install? • If you are usingGSamBattery Monitor on KitKat (4.4) or later, and the app informsyouthat it is unable to retrieve battery statistics, youshouldinstall this app. What does this do? • This runs as asystemprivileged app and provides the caller access to theBatteryStatistics that - prior to Android 4.4 - used to beaccessible toany normal application. • This also provides theability to readthe content of small files to which the regularbattery monitor hasno access - wakelock files for example. Is Rootreally required inKitKat? • Unfortunately, root is required to copythis app into/system/priv-app, which allows this app to run as aprivilegedsystem application. There are other alternatives, but allof themrequire root. Is this safe? • Yes - the code is open source,andvery simple. GSam Labs believes that any app that you installasroot must be fully open source to allow you to inspecttheapplication and ensure it doesn't do anything malicious. How do I install it? • Install this just like anyotherapplication from the store. Once installed, there will be abuttonthat will copy the app to /system/priv-app, and prompt youtorestart your device. • Flashable Zip: You can find a flashablezipin the github repository under the RecoveryInstallImagesdirectory(http://goo.gl/0zcqbL). Flash this in the recovery of yourchoice.This should work for most phones, but since the googleupdatebinary differs between devices, there is no guarantee. •NOTE: Thisonly works if you have root access to your device! How doIuninstall it? • Once a system app is installed, thenormaluninstall procedures don't work. To uninstall this app onceit is asystem app, simply launch the app and click on theUninstallbutton. Can I remove the icon from the launcher? • Yes -you can!Once you have the app properly installed, open the app andselectthe 'Remove from launcher' checkbox. If you need to open theapp inthe future, simply go to GSam Battery Monitor, and selectthe'Launch Root Companion' menu option, or go to the GooglePlayStore, look up the root companion, and hit the Open button.Will Ineed to re-install after an Android update? • Yes - androidupdateswill typically remove any non-stock apps from the systemapp-privdirectory, so you will need to re-install this app after anupdateto Android. If you are running a CyanogenMod derivative,thenstarting with version 1.4, it should automatically backupandrestore during a nightly update. Help!
